By Liza Mohd

Seria - Owners and occupants of houses have been urged to exercise extra vigilance and be on the lookout for any suspicious activities in their neighbourhood after police recovered a stolen Jaguar in a housing area in Seria several days ago. Residents were allegedly unaware of the stolen vehicle's presence.

The 1987 Jaguar Daimler was recovered together with stolen electronic goods following the arrest of a 23-yearold unemployed local man on July 13.

A police report stated that the 35-year-old owner of the luxury vehicle and his family had been outstation and left his double-storey house unoccupied in Kampong Pandan.

When he returned home on July 11, he discovered his car missing from the garage and the house's upper storey window broken. His belongings such as television, DVD player, speakers and foot massager were gone.

Police investigations led to the arrest of the suspect, who happened to be staying in the same area as the victim in Kampong Pandan.

However investigations revealed that the crime was allegedly committed by three persons and the police are still searching for the suspect's two accomplices. A few boxes containing stolen electronic items were discovered inside the Jaguar. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
