Vietnamese Messages For His Majesty

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has received a congratulatory message from President Tran Due Luong of Vietnam and Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai in conjunction with His Majesty's 59th birthday celebration.

The message, issued by the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei, stated:

"On the occasion of the 59th anniversary of Your Majesty's Birthday, we would like to convey Your Majesty our best wishes and warmest congratulations.

"We are delighted to note that under Your Majesty's clear-sighted and wise leadership, over the past time, the Brunei people have continued to record many greater achievements in the cause of construction and development of a prosperous country.

We are convinced that with the recent reforms in the Government, taken by Your Majesty, Brunei would continue to remain an abode of peace and prosperity, and its role and posture would continue to rise in the regional and international arena.

"We also note with satisfaction that thanks to Your Majesty's attention and tremendous contribution, the relations of friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between our two countries have in recent years, developed increasingly on the bilateral basis as well as within the framework of Asean and other multilateral forums.

It is our hope that this relationship would be further consolidated and strengthened in the interest of our two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world over," the message stated.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
