Viva Rangers Champion

Bandar Seri Begawan - Viva Rangers FC emerged as champions of the Brunei-Muara Division 3 Football Tournament after they narrowly defeated Batang Perhentian FC 1-0 at JBS field on Friday.

However, the game was marred by some ugly scenes when some players and supporters from both sides threw punches after the final whistle was blown. The organising committee was quick to act to put the incident under control.

Viva Rangers' Md Firafadzli Adini bin Flj Abd Ghani scored the only goal in the final to seal victory for his team.

Md Firafadzli Adini scooped the ball well over the keeper and found the net in the 85'th minute after his brother Md Firadeddy Azri crossed in from the left. Md Firafadzli Adini was later voted as the best player of the final match.

Third place went to Athletic FC after they beat BB FC 4-2. These four teams, winners from the group stage, will be promoted to the BruneiMuara Division 2 next season.

A total of 16 teams took part in the Division 3 tournament where the teams were divided into four groups of four. Only the winner from each group advanced to the semifinal stage, where Batang Perhentian defeated Athletic 3-1 while Viva Rangers beat BB FC 4-2.

The meet was organised by Brunei-Muara District Football Association.

On hand to present the prizes to the winners was the guest-of-honourAwg Hj Azmain bin HH Momin, Assistant Brunei-Muara District Officer. I

Meanwhile, according to Pg Hj Ali Hassar bin Pg DSLJ Hj Abas, President of Brunei-Muara District Football Association, disciplinary action will be taken against the two teams.
