Student Enlighten In Talk By Us Astronaut, Glass Artist

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 150 Upper Primary students from four schools - St. Michael's, St. Angela's, St. John's and St. George's - listened attentively to Lt Col Catherine Cady Coleman as she spoke about her experience as an astronaut with NASA.

With the help of slides, she explained what being in space was like. She added that if students wanted to be astronauts, they too had to start their education from now.

Among the questions asked by students were "Is life in space hard?" and "How long does it take to travel from earth to space?"

In addition to Lt Col Coleman's presentation, her husband Josh Simpson, was also on hand to share his experiences as a glass artist with the students. The students later managed to obtain signed photos from the two speakers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
