Vigilance During Festivities Warn
By M K Anwar

Bandar Seri Begawan - Royal Brunei Police have cautioned the public to be vigilant during His Majesty's 59th birthday celebrations next week.

The public is reminded to be wary of their own safety and belongings when in crowded areas where pickpockets may strike.

The public is also advised to ensure that homes are locked and well-shuttered before they leave. As caution against burglary, neighbours should be informed when the house is empty.

They are not to leave prized possessions in unattended vehicles when parking.. Vigilance is also advised when withdrawing money from banks or ATMs even during the day.

When using the ATM at night, it is wise to be assisted by a relative or a close friend.

Crime must be reported to the nearest police station or through police hotline 993.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
