Rawi Competition To Develop
Islamic Culture, Knowledge

Begawan - Eleven teams from various schools within the Brunei-Muara
District recently participated in a Rawi competition at the Tungku
Primary School (Brunei Division III) Multi-Purpose Hall.
Present as guest of honour for the
day was Senior Supervisor of Brunei I & III Primary School Section,
Ministry of Education, Hj A Said bin Hj Yussop.
The competition was designed for
participation of schools within the Brunei Division III vicinity,
which among others are religious schools and Arab Preparatory School.
The event was aimed to encourage and
develop the Islamic culture and knowledge among youths.
The most popularly chosen Rawi was
the 'Ab Ta Diol Emla,' while two other schools chose ` Wa Lam Ma I.'
Participants were judged on their
pronunciation/fluency and uniformity of the presentation.
The specialist judges at the event
were Ustaz Pg Hjh Saadiah bte Pg Hj Tuah, Ustazah Hjh Rokiah bte Hj
Ibrahim and Ustazah Hjh Raisah bte Hj Jumat. --
