Make-or-break for Brunei
By Dannie Abu Basrah
It will be a decisive game tonight as
the Wasps take on Kuala Lumpur at the Hassanal Bolkiah National
Stadium in the battle for fourth spot that will ensure qualification
to compete in the 2005 Malaysia Cup.
Brunei will be boosted with the
return of experienced hard-tackling midfielder, Ak Sallehuddin Pg Hj
Damit who missed last week's surprising 3-1 away defeat to Kelantan
TNB but will be without four key players who are serving their
suspensions.
The suspended players for tonight's
match are defenders Shahrul Rizal Hj Abd Rahman, Saiful Abdullah, Ak
Shahruddin Pg Tajuddin and skipper Rosmin Hj Mohd Kamis.
With six points separating both sides
it will be a make-or-break match for the Wasps where only a win could
do in order to keep their chances of finishing fourth alive while a
loss could see the Wasps just forgetting about their chances of
playing in the 2005 Malaysia Cup.
Kuala Lumpur come into the match
after being held to a scoreless draw by Kedah in their previous game
at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium.
Tonight's game will be crucial also
because of the fact that both teams will face tough oppositions in
their next fixtures as Brunei play away against league leaders
Selangor while Kuala Lumpur host on-form side Selangor MK Land whose
import players are banging goals in their recent matches.
In other matches tonight, undefeated
Kedah host top of the table Selangor at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor
Setar as Selangor MK Land welcome the visit of Kelantan TNB at the
Majlis Perbandaran Selayang Stadium. At the Hang Tuah Stadium, Melaka
play against Pulau Pinang NTFA.
