Grinham And Atkinson See Action In Brunei Squash Final

Bandar Seri Begawan - World No. 2 Rachael Grinham will meet world No. 3 Vanessa Atkinson in the Brunei International Squash Women's Open 2004 final at the National Squash Centre today.

Rachael defeated her sister, world No.5 Natalie, in straight sets 9-1, 10-9 and 9-1 in her semifinal yesterday. Rachael had to overcome a strong fight back from Natalie in the second set with the score tied at 8-8, on her way to the win.

The close encounter took a lot out of Natalie, and she collapsed in the third set without giving much of a resistance.

Atkinson had to comeback from a set down to beat world No. 7 Linda Elriani in the other semifinal. All four sets were closely-fought, but in the end, it was Atkinson who eventually triumphed 6-9, 9-6, 9-4 and 9-4.
