Farewell To Malaysian High Commissioner

Bandar Seri Begawan - The current High Commissioner of Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Jamil Johari will be ending his term of office soon and is scheduled to depart on August 3 this year.

This was stated in a special press conference delivered at the Malaysian High Commission in Jln Kebangsaan on Thursday.

At the conference, the High Commissioner further conveyed his gratitude for being so well received since the beginning of his official term in Brunei 14 months ago. He also praised the strong co-operation with government agencies, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with other members of the Diplomatic Corps.

Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Jamil Johari added that to date, around 30,000 Malaysian citizens are residing in Brunei Darussalam, including professionals working in the specialist industries, business industries, teaching professions and other services.

Tan Sri also mentioned that the strong and continuous diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia had been proven with the recent visit by the Malaysian Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister to the sultanate. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
