Kalimantan Cultural Show At Orchid Garden Hotel

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Province of Central Kalimantan on Thursday held a dinner and cultural show at the Orchid Garden Hotel.

The event was attended by Dato Paduka Haji Idris Haji Belaman, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, and Datin Ivy; Mr Yusbar Djamil, Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam; and, Titik Sundari, Chief of Regional Investment Board of Central Kalimantan Province.

Also present were high dignitaries from government agencies, Asean's Heads of Diplomatic Missions and members of diplomatic corps.

The evening began with a traditional Kalimantan dance performance, Kinyah Sangalang Oling, by the Dayak that depicted the moral beliefs of the tribe.

Other performances included Pokuman Panya and Tantuloo dances.

The Governor of Central Kalimantan Province's fourday visit to Brunei coincided with His Majesty's 58th birthday celebration and 20th year of diplomatic ties between Brunei and Indonesia. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
