Family Of Three Converts To Islam

Bandar Seri Begawan - Islamic Dakwah Centre had received an increasing number of new converts in the country with three more converted into Muslims last night.

This conversion ceremony took place at the residence of Hj Nor Hashim Hj Nor, Kg Salambigar's Village Head, and was witnessed by Islamic Dakwah Centre's Director, Dato Seri Setia Hj Adam and several officers from the centre and invited guests.

The function was also attended by more than 100 invited guests, including Hj Ismail Apong, the Penghulu of Mukim Berakas "B", and Hj Asar, Kg Tanah Jambu's Village Head. Two officers from the Islamic Dakwah Centre conducted the conversion.

A Chinese man in his mid-50s, Lim Siew Bo, chose his Muslim name as Muhammad Faisal Abd Rahman and his Bisaya wife, Sally AK Kalam, is now known as Sid Hawa Abdullah.

Their adopted Iban child, 10-year-old Jonathan AK Apan, became Md Firdans Abdullah.

The ceremony coincided with a Dzikir performed by guests.

The new converts also received gifts from Islamic Dakwah Centre presented by Dato Seri Setia Hj Adam and from some friends. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
