Maktab Duli Holds Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for session 2003/2004 was held yesterday afternoon for the students of Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah.

Some 82 male and female students participated in the ceremony, which took place in the auditorium of the college.

The guest of honour was Dr Haji Mahali bin Momin, Director of Department of School Inspectorate, Ministry of Education.

The Khatam Al-Quran reading by the students was followed by recital of the 'Takhtim' by female hostel students.

Dyg Farrah Dizza Abu Kassim headed the students performing the Takhtim.

It was followed by the 'Marhaban' recital by male hostel students headed by Awg Mohd Fadly Falilah Haji Hussin.

The guest of honour later presented certificates and sprinkled 'bunga rampai' on the male Khatam Al-Quran participants. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
