Fisherman Nets Spotted-Skinned Shark Off Jerudong Waters

Bandar Seri Begawan - A shark of an unknown kind was netted by a local fisherman while fishing off the Jerudong Beach recently.

Measuring some six feet in length, the spotted-skinned shark, weighed around 30kg.

Fisherman Awg Jurulaki Hj Mohsin managed to land the fish with the help of his grandchildren saying that after many years of fishing, this was the first time he had seen this particular specie.

Believed to be rare around Brunei waters, observers said the shark could be what the locals here called `Yu (shark) Sab'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
