Derma Bakti Wins Hadrah Contest In Belait

Kuala Belait – A hadrah competition among village consultative councils and associations was held on Thursday night in the Belait District at the Tamu Tudung Saji grounds.

The competitors comprised of male youths and veterans.

The presentation and technique of singing and beating of the hadrah called for a high quality performance. Quality was also part of the criteria for judging.

The Derma Bakti team of Persatuan Kebajikan Islam was adjudged the champion in the veteran category followed by MPK Hadrah Pandan in second place.

The Derma Bakti team of Persatuan Kebajikan Islam also came third in the youth category.

Dato Awang Haji Yussop bin Bakar, Belait District Officer, was present at the event.
