National Dakwah Songs Contest Set
To Propagate Islam

Begawan - Kg. Sungai Hanching Mosque in Jalan Muara is set to
organise the National Dakwah Songs competition this coming August to
stir interest and responsibility amongst the younger generation to
propagate Islam through religious songs.

Mohd Zaide bin Hj Dam it, the secretary of the mosque's Takmir
Committee, said the preliminaries will take place on August 22 while
the finals will be on August 29.
The venue of the competition will be
announced later.
He said youths representing mosques,
suraus, praying halls, university, colleges, schools or organisations
nationwide are invited to take part.
"Participants must be citizens or
residents of the country. The invited group can only send one team and
the time allocated would be only 8 minutes.
"Marks will be deducted for any team
who exceed the time," he said.
Participating teams are free to sing
any dakwah songs in the preliminaries though they are encouraged to
sing their own compositions.
However, in the finals they must sing
only their own compositions.
Entry forms can be obtained from Imam
Pg Mohammad Hafizuddin Pg Hj Bakar of Kg Sg Hanching Mosque, offices
of Brunei-Muara Mosque Affairs or at the Baitul Mal Building in Jalan
Kota Batu.
"Completed entry forms must be
submitted on August 8 by 8pm. $50 will be charged per entry and a
group must not be less than five people or more than seven.
Participant must also not be more than 35 years old," he said. --
