60s Song Competition For Royal Joy In Kuala Belait
By Liza Mohd

Bandar Seri Begawan - Eleven male and female participants over 40 years of age yesterday participated in the 60s Song Competition at the Tudong Saji Kuala Belait.

The Gerakan Masyarakat Pemuda Pemudi Gema organized it.

Aimed to expose singing and performance talents of the veterans in Belait District, it is part of the night stage performances held in conjunction with His Majesty's 58th birthday celebration in the Belait District.

Members of the public dining or waiting for takeaways at the festive stalls were entertained with classic Malay songs by the participants and their backup dancers.

Religious night performances were presented by the Islamic Learning Department last night.

International performances by the Tionghua community will be seen tonight. There will be Kugiran Dancing and Singing by the Belait District Youth Ceremony (MBDB) on Saturday, the Bintang Remaja Competition organised by the Belait District Woman International on Sunday, and Classis P.Ramlee/Saloma Song Competition on Monday night.

The public are urged to come and enjoy the performances during His Majesty's birthday festive season. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
