By Maya Salleh

Bandar Seri Begawan - Eighteen senior government officers from various ministerial departments received their certificates after completing the eighth installation of the Executive Programme Development for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) Wednesday night at the Asma Hotel in Jerudong.

The Executive Programme Development for Senior Government Officers, which was held from February 3 to May 22, was organised by the Public Service Department under the Prime Minister's Office in collaboration with the Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies of the University of Brunei Darussalam.

The programme was also the first of its series to include senior government officers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, which saw the first ever participation of two senior officials from the Royal Brunei Police Force.

The ceremony commenced with a foreword from Awang Haji Saifon bin Haji Awang Besar, Director-General of Public Services, who stated that from 2003, the Public Service Department has and will continue to hold the Executive Programme for Middle Management Officers in the B3 Division and above.

This was followed by a speech delivered by the guest of honour, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Md. Yassin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.

He lauded the development of the programme since its implementation eight years ago to have successfully attracted participants from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Royal Brunei Police Force as well as work partners from CLMV countries. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
