Senior Civil Servants Complete
Executive Programme

Begawan - Eighteen senior government officers from various
ministerial departments received their certificates after completing
the eighth installation of the Executive Programme Development for
Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) Wednesday night at the Asma Hotel
in Jerudong.
The Executive Programme Development
for Senior Government Officers, which was held from February 3 to May
22, was organised by the Public Service Department under the Prime
Minister's Office in collaboration with the Faculty of Business,
Economics and Policy Studies of the University of Brunei Darussalam.
The programme was also the first of
its series to include senior government officers from Cambodia, Laos,
Myanmar and Vietnam, which saw the first ever participation of two
senior officials from the Royal Brunei Police Force.
The ceremony commenced with a
foreword from Awang Haji Saifon bin Haji Awang Besar, Director-General
of Public Services, who stated that from 2003, the Public Service
Department has and will continue to hold the Executive Programme for
Middle Management Officers in the B3 Division and above.
This was followed by a speech
delivered by the guest of honour, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abdul
Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Md. Yassin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime
Minister's Office.
He lauded the development of the
programme since its implementation eight years ago to have
successfully attracted participants from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces
and Royal Brunei Police Force as well as work partners from CLMV
countries. --
