golfing destination

The Empire Hotel & Country Club
together with Brunei Tourism and Royal Brunei Airlines recently hosted
five golf journalists from Singapore who were here to write about
golfing in Brunei and to promote Brunei as a premier golfing
destination.
The group writes for top publications
including Golf Vacations, Golf Asia, Nanyo Elite and Golf.
During their three-day stay, the golf
journalists enjoyed rounds of golf at the luxurious floodlit 18-hole
Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course at The Empire Hotel and
Country Club, the Royal Brunei Airline Golf Course and Royal Brunei
Golf & Country Club Golf Course.
The golf journalists were extremely
impressed with the quality of all three courses.
In addition to their rounds of golf,
the group also met with Andrew LaBrooy, Head Golf Professional of The
Empire Hotel and Country Club who also gave them lessons and tips at
the 26-bay covered driving range of the hotel.
According to Ms Kek Seow Hui, the
Associate Editor of Golf Vacations, "I am simply delighted with my
room at the hotel. It is so spacious, comfortable and luxurious. As
for the golf course, The Empire Golf Course is very forgiving and
great fun as a resort course should be."
Ms Justine Kate Moss, a freelance
writer who writes for a number of publication including Golf
commented: "All three courses are indeed excellent and I am definitely
going to return with my friends who are avid golfers."
According to the group, there is a
high potential for Brunei to grow as a golfing destination as it
combines all elements of an enjoyable golfing holiday - a variety of
good golf courses, delicious food, enjoyable and interesting tours,
lush rainforests and to top it off, an excellent hotel such as The
Empire Hotel and Country Club.
