PGGMB holds jogathon for upgrading
facilities, charities and community services

Some 500 participants made up of
students, parents and staff of Persekutuan Guru-Guru Melayu Brunei
Secondary School at Kg Sg Akar, yesterday morning took part in a
jogathon.
The 3km jog, which took place around
the school area, was the result of students' ideas and initiated by
them with proceeds to be used for upgrading PGGMB's sports and
laboratory facilities.
Five per cent of it are will be
donated to charities and a part of the proceeds will go towards
community services. Cikgu Hj Antin Ahad, the President of PGGMB, was
the guest of the honour at the opening ceremony.
Other invited guests included the
Supreme Council and Executive Council members (AJKTT and JKTT) of
PGGMB, senior officers of PGGMB Head Office, as well as principals,
headmasters, senior staff and teachers of PGGMB schools.
After the jogathon's completion, a
presentation was held with certificates handed out to the top students
of PGGMB Secondary School in the Mid-Year Examinations 2004. Prizes
were also given to the jogathon's participants who managed to collect
the most in donations as well as lucky draw winners.
In his speech, the Principal of PGGMB
Secondary School, Cikgu Drs Hj Tudin Ahad, touched upon the importance
of discipline in students as a source of inspiration in the path to
academic success and all other aspects of life.
