Uniformed Personnel, Four Others
Arrested In Syabu Bust

Begawan - Five local men, including a uniformed personnel, all
aged between 20 and 27 years, were nabbed in a drug bust yesterday.
Officers from the Narcotics Control
Bureau conducted the raid around 2.40 pm at Kg. Mulaut area.
The suspects were apprehended at a
car storage area and were found having in their possession 32 small
packets of crystal fragments believed to be 'Syabu', scientifically
known as Methylamphetamine, which is a Class `A' drug.
Also confiscated during the operation
were instruments believed to have been used in the misuse of drugs.
The NCB stated that the operation was
conducted as a result of a tip-off from members of the public. The
Bureau conveyed its appreciation to those who assisted in the
operation.
The Bureau also stated that it would
continue to monitor those involved in the distribution and consumption
of drugs in its efforts to free the country from the ill-effects of
drug abuse.
Furthermore, the Bureau once again
reminded the public that allowing residential dwellings to be used for
distribution, processing or any drug abuse related activities is an
offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The Bureau also warned that
possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking in Brunei, emphasising
that Methylamphetamine or drugs under the Class `A' category weighing
more than 50 grammes, carries the death penalty.
The Bureau welcomes cooperation and
