Brunei in last eight
By Lyna Mohamad
Brunei qualified for the
quarterfinals of the 32nd Asian U-18 Football Tournament in Hong Kong
when they drew 4-4 with Vietnam.
Down with only nine men after Azman
Rajab and Hj Khairol Anuar Hj Yakub were red-carded and without
skipper Safari Wahid who was suspended, Brunei put on a great show
against the more fancied Vietnamese.
Brunei's Ak Kamarul Ariffin Pg Ramli
scored a hat-trick in the 10th, 23rd and 32nd minutes while Syazwi
Mohd scored the equalising goal.
Brunei will meet Thailand in the
quarterfinals today at the Tsing Yi Sports Ground without their
hat-trick hero Ak Kamarul who has collected two yellow cards but will
be boosted with the return of captain Safari.
