Tutong Hospital Hosts First Aid Course For Students

Bandar Seri Begawan - Staff of the Pg Muda Mahkota Pg Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital yesterday conducted a First Aid course for more than 60 students of Sekolah Menengah Sufri Bokiah Tutong.

The students comprised members of the Red Crescent Association and Girl Guides' Association in the aforementioned district and Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS).

In his welcoming remarks, Awg Saban Timbang, Head of the hospital's Public Relations unit, said that this marked the first time such a course has been held.

He hoped that the public would approach the hospital for guidance or any information on any matter related to medical and emergency situations.

The two-hour course was conducted by Awg Rafaie Dollah, the hospital's Head of Paramedics.

Students were divided into two groups.

They heard a talk on its functions, objectives and the theory on First Aid.

Later, the students had practicals on giving First Aid such as CPR, bandaging and what to do in the event of choking or fainting.
