PWM President, Deputy to retain
posts

PWM
new office bearers for year 2004-2006.
Persatuan
Warganegara Malaysia (PWM) President Simon D Gelan and Deputy
President Jackson Ting will continue to spearhead the association for
another term (2004 - 2006).
This was stated at the PWM 6th Annual
General Meeting held at the International Convention Centre over the
weekend, an event attended by over 500 members including association
patron Tan Sri Mohd Jamil Johari, Malaysian High Commissioner to
Brunei.
The meeting also included the
approval of a proposed agenda, honorary secretary and treasurer
reports, approval of amendment of constitutions, dissolution of
current committee, announcement of new office bearers and the
appointment of an external auditor, among others.
The association's new office bearers
are Honorary Secretary Lau An Lin, Assistant Secretary Jerome Jones,
Honorary Treasurer Mr Tiong Kee Huat, Assistant Treasurer Jenny Hii,
Vice-President of General Affairs James Lee, Vice-President of Women
Affairs Ms Ellin Chong Nee Chin, Vice-President of Education Stanley
Lim, Vice-President of Social Welfare Henry Ramanair, Vice-President
of Membership Mr Lee Boon Leong, Vice-President of Sports Recreation
Yuser and Vice-President of Publicity and Public Relations Mr Ho Ley
Hoon.
PSW
has been in existence here for the past 9 years and will continue to
work towards fostering close relations with the people of Brunei
Darussalam and Malaysian citizens who are residing here.
The association is active in
organising activities - such as gatherings for Hari Raya, Chinese New
Year, Hari Gawai Dayak, Adau Gayoh, Tadau Kaamatan, Deepavali,
Christmas and New Year - in hopes of bringing together Malaysian
citizens and other races residing here.
