Brunei’s Young Coached On Business

Begawan – A course has begun here coaching young Bruneians how
to do business.
The Technical Education Department
through the Entrepreneurship Training Section is carrying out the
fifth intake of the Enterprise Development Training Programme for
graduates from the vocational and technical education training
institutions.
The Business Incubator Programme is
the phase one of the enterprise development training programme.
The main objective of the programme
is to provide an alternative for vocational and technical education
training institutions graduates to embark on self-employed business
activities and to enhance and maximise youth potential in contributing
towards the country's economic diversification.
It is hoped that through the
programme, new entrepreneurs will be nurtured with entrepreneurial
acumen.
It is also a comprehensive
entrepreneurial training course where the participants are introduced
to business procedures, the basis of business management as well as
the technicalities of preparing a business plan.
The course aims to guide the
vocational and technical graduates to take up entrepreneurship, train
participants on how to start up business and coach them on basic
business management.
Resource speakers from various
government agencies and private sectors were invited to talk on
relevant topics which included licensing procedures, business
registration procedures and entrepreneurship in Islamic perspective.
The programme which started yesterday
will end on August 14. --
