Kelantan TNB Beats Brunei In
Premier League

Kelantan TNB continued their recent revival in the Premier
League with a convincing 4-1 victory over former Malaysia Cup winner,
Brunei in a Group A match at the UTM Mini Stadium here Wednesday,
Bernama reported.
Kelantan
TNB, unbeaten in seven matches took a 2-0 lead in the first half
through an own goal by Irwan Muhammad (26th minute) and Mohammad Badri
Rozi in the 36th minute.
Brunei, which started the match in
sixth place against the fifth placed Kelantan TNB, reduced the deficit
with a Subhi Abdillah Bakir goal in the 54th minute.
However, veteran Cik Hisamudin Hassan
killed off Brunei's fightback with a brace in the 87th and 90th
minutes.
The win gave Kelantan TNB 35 points
from 11 wins, two draws and seven loses while Brunei's position
remained unchanged.
Meanwhile in Alor Setar on Tuesday
night, Kedah earned themselves a huge lifeline in their battle against
relegation in the Super League with a 3-2 victory in a
bottom-of-the-table clash with Sarawak at the Darulaman Stadium.
But they first had to live through a
scare after taking a 2-0 lead. Three goals in the final 10 minutes of
the match set up a frantic finish.
A Marcos Magno header in the 19th
minute and Akmal Rizal's double strike in the 56th and 82nd minutes
ensured the Canaries closed the gap on the East Malaysians to one
point with just five matches remaining in the season. --
