Holds Orientation

Begawan - Some 188 new intakes of Sultan Bolkiah Vocational
School yesterday attended the opening ceremony of the four-day
orientation for the 16th new intake at the school in Lorong Lima,
Seria.
The chief guest was the Deputy
Principal of the Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School Cikgu Hj Abdullah
bin Ahad.
The chief guest delivered welcoming
remarks.
The new intakes took the student's
pledge.
The session included a talk on
discipline, allowance payment and motivation.
There will also be activities
organised by the Majlis Pelajar Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School, and
a jogathon on Wednesday.
Also present during the ceremony were
the parents and guardians of the new students, teachers and school
officials.
The orientation is being held to
expose the new students to the physical and social environment in the
vocational school and to get acquainted with the teachers and
students.
It was also aimed at improving
responsibilities among the new intakes and provide awareness and
knowledge through the motivational talks.
The new intakes will be taking up
courses to earn the Pre-National Diploma, National Diploma, National
Trade Certificate and National Vocational Certificate, which will take
from a year to two and a half years.
The question and answer session among
the parents and students marked the end of the opening ceremony.
More than 300 students, excluding the
new intakes, are studying at the vocational school. --
