Car Wash Man Jailed For Stealing Government Items

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Bandar Seri Begawan Magis ate's Court on Saturday sentenced a 31-year-old local man to seven months' imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to stealing government properties.

The defendant, Haji Aziz bin Haji Johara, who runs a car wash business at Menglait, admitted to stealing a National refrigerator, a Kordax High Pressure Washer, a green canvas and a 25 horsepower engine from the old office of the Weights and Measures, Jalan Sumbiling Lama.

Prosecuting Officer, Shamshuddin Haji Kamaluddin said the defendant had committed the offences together with two other persons, who are still at large, on two different dates last year.

He said all the items were recovered. The refrigerator and the outboard engine were found at the defendant's house by the police. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
