Brunei Woos Japanese Travel Agents
By Azlan Othman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - To mark the 20th anniversary of BruneiJapan
relations, the Tourism Development Division of the Ministry of
Industry and Primary Resources and other relevant agencies will be
conducting a familiarisation tour of Brunei for Japanese travel agents
from 18-22 July 2004.
This tour is made possible by the
continuous efforts of both countries to tap into the potential market
of the booming tourism industry, with air tickets courtesy of RBA.
The familiarisation tour will give
the Japanese travel agents a chance to realise the vast potential of
Brunei as an exciting holiday destination. This will enable them to
put together a varied package tour, be it family or adventure
oriented, to cater to the different tastes of potential Japanese
travellers to the country.
The 11-member delegation will consist
of various travel agents such as Tokyo Tourist Corporation, All Nippon
Travel Agents Association, JTB Corp, El Orto Co Ltd, Nagoya
International Service, Kinki Nippon Tourist Co Ltd, Nippon Travel
Agency Co Ltd and Japan Association of Travel Agents.
Among the tours on the fully packed
five-day trip are a full-day city tour, proboscis monkey tour, Labi
Long House, Wasai Wong Kadir waterfall, Ulu Temburong National Park
and many more. The agents will get the chance to sample the local
culture, cuisine, history and natural scenery along the way.
With the exchange of travel agents
between Brunei and Japan, it is hoped that there will be an increase
in the number of travellers to both countries. --
