Thirty Eight Receive Birthday Medals At Istana

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty awarded state decorations to mark His Majesty’s 58th birthday to 38 people including two Singaporeans, senior government officials and prominent Chinese businessmen. It took place at the Throne Room of the Istana Nurul Iman.

Leading the recipient was Awg Khoo Boon Hui, Singapore’s Police Commissioner who received “Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei Yang Amat Perkasa, Darjah Pertama (PSPNB) which carries a title “Dato Seri Pahlawan”.

Judge Mohammed Saied and Attorney-General Dato Paduka Awg Hj Kifrawi received Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Pertama (SPMB) which carries a title “Dato Seri Paduka”.

Also present at the ceremoney were Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg. Anak Hjh Saleha, His Royal Highness the Crown Pg. Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and HRH Pg. Anak Isteri Pg. Anak Hjh Zariah, HRH Prince Hj Sufri Bolkiah and Datin Hjh Faizah, HRH Prince Abdul Azim, HRH Prince Abdul Malik, HRH Prince Abdul Mateen and other members of the royal family.

Meanwhile Singapore’s Senior Counsel, Mr. Davinder Singh received Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Kedua (DSNB) which carries the title Dato Setia while 15 others received Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Kedua (DPMB). It carries the title “Dato Paduka”.

Meanwhile Awg Hj Yusoff and Dr. Awg Hj Besar received Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar, Darjah Kedua (DSSUB). It carries the title “Dato Seri Setia”.

There were Pg. Hj Damit, His Excellency Awg Zainidi, H.E Pg. Mashor, Sheikh Adnan, Awg Hj Sulaiman, YDM Pehin Datu Indera Sugara Brigadier General Awg Hj Mohd Yusof, Dr. Hj Abdul Latif, Pg. Hj Othman, YDM Pehin Orang Kaya Jurulateh Adat Istiadat Diraja Hj Awg Mashor, Awg Hj Adnan, Awg Hj Md. Yussop, Pehin Bendahari China Awg Onn Siew Siong, Awg Hj Jaidin, Awg Lim Beng Thai and Dyg Hjh Intan.

Meanwhile five others received Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar, Darjah Ketiga (SSUB). There were Awg Hj Abd Aziz, Pg. Duraman, Awg Hj Abd Razak, Pehin Khatib Hj Emran and Datin Hjh Duratul Ain.

Twelve others received Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Ketiga (SNB). There were Awg Hj Mohd Mahdi, Awg Hj Ahmad, Awg Hj Mohd Taib, Awg Abd Majid, Pg. Hj Abd Rahman, Awg Hj Othman, Awg Hj Johari, Lt. Col Awg Johar, Dr. Nallathamby Rajendran, Awg Hj Idris, Dyg Hjh Salbiah and Dyg Hjh Fatmah. A Doa Selamat was later read by the State Mufti.

Also present were Pengiran-Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri Manteri Pendalaman, Foreign Diplomats, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Departments. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
