Local Man Jailed For Stealing Gas Cylinder

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday sent a 24-year-old local to jail for four months after he pleaded guilty to stealing a gas cylinder.

Aminul Amri Hj Abdullah left his home in his car bringing a steel cutter and drove towards Jerudong at midnight, January 10, this year.

Aminul stopped near an unoccupied house in Kg Jerudong and observed it for a while.

Later, he proceeded to the house with the steel cutter and climbed over a gate. He stole a gas cylinder from an unlocked steel caging.

He then brought the stolen item through a hole in the gate. A couple from the neighbourhood, who drove past the house, was suspicious of Aminul's actions.

The man approached and detained Aminul while his wife called for the police, who later arrived at the scene. They brought the defendant in for investigations.

Aminul admitted to having intended to sell the gas cylinder.
