Two 17-Year-Old Boys On Bail For Taking Syabu

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 17-year-old boy was released on bail of $3,000 or one local surety by the Bandar Magistrate's Court after he pleaded guilty to seven charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The sentencing will be on July 11th.

Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah heard the youth plead guilty to two charges of possessing Methylamphetamine, three counts of consuming the same class A drug and two charges of possessing utensils intended for the consumption of controlled drugs.

The offences were committed in July, September and October 2001.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, another 17-year-old boy was released on bail of $3,000 or one local surety pending sentencing on July 11 for drug offences.

The boy yesterday pleaded guilty to a charge of consuming Methylamphetamine committed in July 2001 and another charge of possessing utensils intended for the consumption of controlled drugs committed in October the same year. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
