$3,000 Fine For Local Drug Addict

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 23-year-old local was fined a total of $3,000 or has to serve 6 months' jail in default after pleading guilty in the Bandar Magistrate's Court to two charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

NCB Prosecuting Officer PC Othinan Pg Hj Ali told presiding Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah that Shahrizal Hi Tengah's urine sample was tested positive for Methylamphetaminc, a class “A” drug aiso known as Syabu and a class “B” drug, Cannabis.

The defendant was arrested by police on duty patrolling near Pasar Baru in Kianggeh on December 15, 2002 on suspicion that the defendant was involved in drug activities. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
