Private Sector Vital In Higher
Education Drive Says Minister

Begawan – The private sector also plays an important role in
improving and expanding the country's education infrastructures to
meet the lack of facilities for courses thus reducing Brunei’s
dependency on education facilities abroad.
Pehin
Dato Haji Suyoi, Deputy Minister of Education said this at the
presentation of certificates to graduates of Laksamana College of
Business yesterday.
He said the Education Ministry is
proud of the college's successful achievements in assisting the
government in providing a higher education infrastructure and in the
development of skilled manpower.
The Deputy Minister then presented
certificates to nine graduates who have ended their Business
Foundation Courses at the College.
Mr
Martin Walley the British Deputy High Commissioner, presented
certificates to four graduators with Pre Foundation Certificates, two
graduates taking Higher Diploma in Business and a graduate who
completed Advanced Diploma in Kensington Business for 2003-2004
sessions.
Meanwhile, Pehin Dato Haji Awang
Hapidz the Chairman/Director of Laksamana College of Business also
presented certificates to five graduates who completed their Diploma
in Business and nine others with certificates in Business.
Mohd
Ashraf bin Haji Esa a graduates who received Higher Diploma in
Business said he is confident of a bright future with the knowledge he
learned at the college and is looking forward to further studies.
Another graduate, Zara Winnie Foo
Chuan Hong,a Malaysian citizen living in the country said she was very
aware of the recognition accorded to Laksamana College.
