Two kids seriously injured in bouncer mishap

Parents called for more security features to be incorporated in bouncers as two children, a 10 and 5-year-old were badly injured when a bouncer they were playing on overturned during a birthday reception at Kg Pengkalan Batu last Sunday.

The two children suffered bruises on their head and mouth, and scratches on their hands. They had to be brought to the hospital for treatment. Several other children also sustained minor injuries from the overturned bouncer.

"I was watching my children when suddenly I saw one end of the bouncer lift off the ground as the children rushed to one side.

"Another parent and I tried to bring it back down, but it was out of our reach and the bouncer overturned.

"About fifteen children were inside and some of them were hurt as the bouncer had been erected on a concrete floor," a parent said, adding that the bouncer had not been properly secured to the ground.
