More Traffic Lights Installed To Curb Congestion

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Road Department at the Public Works Department has installed a number of traffic lights at several junctions in the Brunei-Muara District to ease traffic congestion.

The new sets of traffic lights are expected to ensure a smooth traffic flow at peak hours in areas that are usually congested.

According to the Road Department, the new traffic lights will begin operation tomorrow starting at 9am.

One of the new sets of traffic lights is located at the Jalan Satu /Jalan Sepuloh Junction at the Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme.

The introduction of the traffic lights in the area is also intended at improving the safety standards in the area.

The installation of these traffic lights is also to protect the children enrolled in a school located in the area.

Traffic lights are also installed at Persimpangan Jalan Sepuloh /Jalan Tujuh Belas also in the Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme.

With the installation of these traffic lights, it is hoped that the level of safety at the junction will increase and, at the same time, make it easier for the road users who often pass through the area.

Persimpangan Jalan Menteri Besar near the Mail Processing Centre at Old Airport in Berakas is also equipped with traffic lights.

The installation of traffic lights at this junction is to decrease the traffic congestion in the area especially during working hours.

This junction leads to various Government Department buildings.

According to the Road Department, the installation of the new traffic lights is also to add more capacity at the junctions.
