26 Kids Take Part In Khatam Al-Quran Scheme Selection

Bandar Seri Begawan – The selection for this year’s Khatam Al-Quran for children under 10 was held at the Islamic Education Department in Jalan Ong Sum Ping yesterday.

A total of 26 children, 11 boys and 15 girls, attended the selection process. They were asked to read out selected verses during the selection process in not more than 15 minutes.

Among them was Dayang Nurul Amalina binti Haji Ahmad, 9.

The scheme is held annually by the Islamic Education Department, Ministry of Education to encourage children ten years and below to read the Quran.

Hajah Sarbanun Binti Juned, an Officer at the Islamic Education Department, said the children were required to achieve more than 70 per cent mark.
