The Golf Club, a popular golf show
featured on ESPN STAR Sports, was recently in Brunei to film The
Empire Hotel & Country Club and its luxurious floodlit 18-hole Jack
Nicklaus-designed championship golf course.
The Golf Club provides golfers with a
concise update on the latest golf news, interviews with the world's
top players and features some of the best golf courses from around the
globe.
With a reach of 56.2 million viewers
throughout Asia, the show is broadcasted in English, Mandarin and
Korean on Star Asia, Star SE Asia, Star Taiwan, Star India and MBC-ESPN
Korea.
During their time in Brunei, The Golf
Club managed to capture excellent footage of golf, as well as hold
interviews with a few high profile golfers at The Empire Country Club.
Andrew LaBrooy, Head Golf
Professional and Colin Coles, Golf Course Superintendent brought the
group around the golf course, providing them with extensive
information on the course. Although they had a tight schedule, they
also managed to enjoy a City Tour hosted by Freme Travel.
Many tourists travel around the world
looking for new challenges on the golf course and The Empire Hotel and
Country Club has identified the importance of this market to the
Hotel.
The Empire Country Club's golf course
has been one of the main focuses of most travelling media and the
hotel has also hosted exclusive media golf trips to further promote
the destination to golfers internationally.
At the same time, The Empire Hotel
and Country Club also advertise golf at The Empire Hotel and Country
Club in leading regional golf publications.
For those interested in becoming a
member of The Empire Country Club, various membership categories are
available and for details, contact Hajah Asmani at 241 8222.
The golf course at The Empire Hotel &
Country Club, Brunei, is no ordinary golf course. It is one of the
very few in Asia that can boast of having seen the likes of former US
president Bill Clinton, the world's royalty and heads-of-state teeing
off.
The 18-hole floodlit championship
course is also special for other reasons. For one, it was designed by
one of the world's golfing greats - Jack Nicklaus. For another, it
enjoys a breathtaking location, along a picturesque coast bordering
the sparkling blue South China Sea.
