Temburong tug-of-war champions

The final of the Temburong District Tug-of-War Competition was held on Monday night at the Temburong Sports Complex.

The competition was held in conjunction with His Majesty's 58th Birthday celebrations. Present as the Chief Guest was Awang Shahminan bin Hj Tengah, the Assistant Temburong District Officer.

The competition was held in three categories; 70kg below, 70kg above (total weight: 1,800kg) and 70kg above (total weight: 1,600kg).

Competing in the 70kg below category were teams from Mukim Amo, Religious Affairs Department, Forestry Department, Kampong Sungai Tanit and Mukim Bangar.

In the 70kg above category were teams from Kampong Sungai Tanit, Mukim Amo, Menengah FC and Mukim Bangar.

And in the third category, five teams competed namely: Royal Brunei Police Force, Religious Affairs Department, Medical and Health Department, Forestry Department and Survey Department.

In the first category, Mukim Amo emerged as the champions collecting 38 points while second were Religious Affairs Department with 26 points and in third place with 12 points were the Forestry Department.

Menengah FC emerged as the champions in the second category with 30 points, followed by Mukim Amo and Mukim Bangar.

The Religious Affairs Department emerged as the champion in the third category with 15 points, followed by the Royal Brunei Police Force (2 points) and the Survey Department (1 point).

The winning teams will be representing the district in the national tug-of-war competition to be held in Tutong.
