Mohd Aizat Wins Congress Cup 2004

Begawan - Sensational Brunei national youth bowler, Ak Mohd
Aizat bagged the inaugural Challenge Trophy of the Congress Cup 2004
after defeating Haji Yakub in the final of the Men's Open Masters on
Sunday afternoon at the Bowling Utama.
Third place went to Ak Rizal while in
fourth place was Haji Bahzi.
Ak
Mohd Aizat, who won two silver medals in the recent Sukma and champion
of the Miri Open, also helped his team King Pins to win the team event
with a total of 3,028 pinfalls.
The other members in King Pin were Ak
Manuf, Ak Izzul Raihan and Ak Khairul Rijal.
Team Amuk with 2,984 pinfalls were
second while team Kerambit with 2,923 pinfalls was third.
In the Graded Masters `A' Final, Haji
Bahri rolled in an average of 210 to emerge champion followed by Atak
(194) and Ak Esham (193).
For the Graded Masters `B' category,
Cikgu Khalid was first (188) followed by Hakiman (187) and Abu Bakar
(183).
The Ladies Open Masters saw Dk
Maswarty, a national team bowler, emerging the winner followed by Dk
Nadia Nabila and Hjh Mariani.
In the ladies team event, Wira
Bowlers were first followed by RBA Bowling team.
The two-week Congress Cup 2004
bowling tournament was organised by Brunei Darussalam Ten Pin Congress
and aimed at promoting the sport of bowling and to unearth new talents
for the national team.
The next bowling tournament is His
Majesty’s 58th Birthday Cup, which is scheduled to start on July 18
