Eight Students To Attend
Asia-Pacific Children’s Meet In Japan

Begawan - Eight Secondary One students are set to leave for
Fukuoka, Japan to take part in the 16th Asia-Pacific Children's
Convention on July 10.
The convention is aimed to bring
about acknowledgement on multi-cultural diversity in the Asia-Pacific
region.
It is also expected to initiate the
birth of a new generation of youngsters who possess better global
perspective and international awareness.
A flag presentation and blessing
ceremony was held yesterday at the Dewan Bakti in Beribi Telanai
School.
Students, who were chosen from 80
applicants from various schools nationwide, attended the ceremony.
Guest of honour Cikgu Apsah bte Hj
Abd Majid, Director of Schools at the Ministry of Education, hoped the
students would be active by participating in all activities and make
friends at the convention.
During the ceremony yesterday, the
students showcased before guests and parents two of their cultural
performances, Joget Seri Kenangan and Aduk-Aduk, which will be
performed at the convention.
The students are: Ferdy Firman Syah
from St. George, Ahmad Fauzi of St Margeret's School, Mohamad Nur
Taufiq Ad-deep Hamdan from SM Sultan Sharif Ali, AK. Mohd Hanafi and
Nurafina and Fathin Hj Abdul Manap from MSPSBS, Dk Nadzatul Hayatt
from Beribi Telanai School and Enny Erwany from SM Sufri Bolkiah.
They will be accompanied by Cikgu Hjh
Ainah Hj Ibrahim, and peace ambassadors Dk Hjh Ena Suraya Pg Hj
Mohammad and Syaza Muzini. --
