Local Photographers Urged To Take
Shots And Win

Begawan - The Photographic Association (Persatuan Jurufoto) is
now holding a photography competition to mark the 58th birthday
celebration of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei.
The contest is open to citizens,
permanent residents and the association's members, except for Category
A, which is open to VIPs, such as royal families, ministers, deputy
ministers, permanent secretaries, deputies, diplomats, heads of
departments and deputies, director and general managers of private
sectors.
Category B is an open category, with
the theme of "depicting His Majesty in a get-together with his
subjects", while Category C, also an open category, themed around
events relating to His Majesty's birthday celebration.
Photos must be colour prints with
12"x18" type. All photos must be taken in Brunei, and each participant
is allowed to submit no more than four photographs for each category
and is only entitled to win one prize in each category.
Participants are free to use any
camera type, film and print. However, photos that have been
manipulated by computer are not allowed in the competition.
Entry fee for the public is $5 per
photo. For the association's members, entry fee is $3 per photo and
$10 for four photos.
Entry forms can be obtained from the
chairman of the competition at Rasa Ceria Cafe, SEAMEO-VOC1'ECH
Regional Centre in Gadong or from Fotorama Photographic Services at No
50, Kg Delima Satu in Jalan Muara. The closing date is July 16 at 4
pm.
Only winning entries will be
notified, and the winning photos will be exhibited during His
Majesty's get-together ceremony with his subjects on July 18. --
