By Azaraimy HH
Bandar Seri
Begawan - More than 8,000 registered voters out of more than
25,000 Indonesians in the Sultanate cast their votes yesterday at the
Indonesian embassy for the first direct presidential election in the
world's third largest democracy.
His Excellency Yusbar Djamil,
Ambassador of Indonesia to Brueni, led the casting of the ballots by
Indonesians working in Brunei.
They came in droves and full of
enthusiasm.
Ambassador Yusbar Djamil said he was
satisfied with the preparations for the casting of votes in Brunei.
He said that the voting took place
from 8 am to 6pm, whereas in Indonesia, it was held from 8 am to 1 pm.
This was because yesterday was a working day in Brunei and that more
time was needed for voters to cast their votes.
He thanked all the Indonesians in
Brunei who voted yesterday. --
