Unity Monument In Tutong Gets
Donations

Tutong
- Tutong District will soon have its own Mercu Tanda Kenangan
(monument), which is now under construction at the Tutong District
government offices building area.
The monument is expected to be
completed before July 22 this year.
The construction of the monument is
part of the district's efforts to develop the district and add
something to the number of tourist attractions in the Sultanate.
The monument, carrying the theme "Bangsaku
Berjaya Sejahtera", will showcase the unity of Tutong District's
multi-ethnic community and display various cultural and religious
characteristics.
Measuring 275 square metres, the
monument is part of the events for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei's get-together with the rakyat on his 58th
birthday celebration in the district.
Awg
Abd Mutalib Hj Md Idris, Acting Tutong District Officer, yesterday
received the contributions for the construction of the monument from
several prominent companies and individuals.
Goh
Hock Kee Motors contributed $30,000, Datu Hulubalang Hj Abd Wahab,
Pehin Lau Ah Kok and Maju Motors Sdn Bhd each donated $15,000 and
Nazmi Textile gave $10,000.

Hock Kee Motors was represented by Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Goh King
Chin, the Managing Director, a prominent businessman who was bom and
grew up in Tutong.
Meanwhile, Awg Hj Abd Aziz Abd Latif
gave $5,050 while Brunei Shell Sdn Bhd, NBT (B) Sdn Bhd, PHA Bakar
Filing Station, Perusahaan Ala Haji Bolhassan and Teguh Raya
contributed $5,000.
Other contributors are Awg Hj Abd
Khani Hj Abd Kadir, Vestland Realty, Gadong Properties, PDS Abattoir
Sdn Bhd, Nusa Jaya Puteri School, Sahid Saad, Persatuan PERTAMA,
