The Royal Brunei Police Force
Commissioner's Challenge Trophy for the 5-a-side football competition
was held at the RU 'A' field of the Panaga Police Station on Sunday.
The event was organised by the
Headquarters of the Belait District Police Force in conjunction with
this year's 83rd Police Day.
A total of 72 teams took part in the
one-day event, which was divided into two categories, the Open
category and the Pusu category for age 12 and below.
The Open category was divided into
four groups of 15. Each group was later subdivided into five small
groups of three, where group winners meet each other for a semifinal
spot. The groups are as follows for the Open category:
Group A: Panaga FC, Fajar 'C', Lorong
5' 'A', Syiffafiqah FC, IBB 'B', DP FC 'A', Kaki Teraban FC, Kronos
'B', Dream Team, BBSM, Lotto 'B', NBT 'B', BPSL United, Suka-Suka and
Imigresen 'B'.
Group B: Super Star, OCA Team, Power
Heat, MKJB 'A', MESRA 1, Castella 'A', Lotto 'A', Mumong Beez, Fajar
'B', Bandaran 'B', Arena FC, Kaki Teraban 'A', River Seven, Five
United and the 7th Dwarfs.
Group C: Mesra '2', IBB 'A', MKJB
'B', SBL, All Star, Bandaran 'A', Lorong 5'C', Kaki Teraban 'B', STKRJ
'B', Fajar 'A', Castella 'B', BBSM 'B', Kronos 'A', BPSL FC and NBT
'A'.
Group D: Kastam, Mega Satr, Winnig
Eleven, Longplai Mix, OPSO, Lorong 5'B', Riviera Hotel, Kental FC, BBA
Family FC, Imigresen 'A', Wahwaza, Studio FC, DP FC 'B', Kaki Teraban
and STKRJ 'A'.
Meanwhile 12 teams competed for the
Pusu category. The teams were DPR 'A', Small Lion 'A', STKRJ Junior,
Pusu 'B', DPR 'B', Little G, Small Lion 'B', MPKP 'B', DPR 'C', Sri
Kasturi, Remaja MMJA and Pusu'A'.
The Open category was won by
Suka-Suka who beat Lotto 'A' 2-1 scoring with a silver goal ruling and
third were STKRJ 'A'.
In the Pusu category, Small Lion 'A'
took first place defeating MPKP 'B' 2-1 in the finals.
There was also an exhibition match
between the Police Commissioner team and the Belait District Office
team, which saw the Police Commissioner team winning 4-2.
Present to award the trophies was the
guest-of-honour, Dato Paduka Seri Hj Abd Rahman bin Hj Johan, the
Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam's Police Force.
