The Brunei International Airport was
buzzing yesterday afternoon with people travelling to several
destinations, including students who were off to study abroad.
Twenty-two students undertaking the
Biomedical Science programme left for Australia to complete their
course, which will run for one and a half years at the University of
Queensland in Brisbane.
Prior to this, they studied at
Universiti Brunei Darussalam, also for a one-and-a-half-year period.
Upon completion of the course in
November 2005, they will pursue studies in Medicine or Dentistry.
The group yesterday consisted of
government scholarship and private students.
This marked the third group of
students going to Australia as part of a scheme agreed between UBD and
UQ, which was signed in 2000.
The Bachelor of Biomedical Science is
a joint programme between UBD and UQ, facilitated by HRD Services.
More students from accountancy and
sports programmes are schedule to leave for Australia this month.
