Shop Owners, Tenants Called To
Keep Up Brunei’s Splendour
By Zalia Zaini
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Owners and tenants of buildings under the Municipal
Board's jurisdiction are urged to beautify their shop premises to
maintain the splendour and clean image of the capital.
This was said by Awg Mohammad Ramli
Haji Zulkifli, Officer on Duty at the Municipal Board yesterday
afternoon, at the launch of an international trade in conjunction with
His Majesty's 58th birthday celebrations.
He advised all vendors to
continuously maintain food safety and hygiene for their customers'
wellbeing especially during His Majesty's birthday celebrations.
All parties should work hand-in-hand
to keep the environment clean, he said.
"Bandar Seri Begawan will remain one
of the best cities in this region if everyone is responsible in
keeping the capital clean and beautiful," he added.
He hoped the international trade
organised by the Municipal Board will be able to offer items that give
priority to quality and price.
Awg
Ramli also hoped newly established local enterprises will learn more
business related fields from foreign vendors participating in this
event.
He believed local entrepreneurs can
achieve great success in their business if they practice the latest
trading techniques.
He said one of the most important
business strategies is to establish wide networking with foreign
entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Awg Ali Hussin Bin Besar,
Licence Officer from the Municipal Department, said the objectives of
organising such events were to celebrate His Majesty's birthday and to
encourage business development in the Sultanate.
He added the organising committee
will continuously observe the products on sale to ensure these are not
against the law.
The international trade is currently
being held at the Trade Exhibition Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan and
will run for ten days. The centre will be open from 10am-10pm. --
