Over 700 Teachers Take Part In
Induction Programme

Begawan - Over 700 teachers who attended a four-day induction
programme - that began June 29 - saw the programme's closing ceremony
yesterday afternoon at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
The ceremony commenced with a
welcoming remark delivered by the Director of Institute of Islamic
Education under the Department of Islamic Education, Ministry of
Education,
She reiterated that knowledge,
expertise and experience gained during the four days were merely part
of the efforts of introduction and assistance rendered to
participating teachers. Assistance ranged from equipping them with
tasks and responsibilities, in addition to raising the awareness to
the importance of efforts in developing the profession, especially in
stepping up and widening knowledge and expertise which each individual
must carry out fervently in today's rapid changing era.
She also stated that the Ministry of
Education is also stepping up its efforts in assisting the development
of teachers by implementing as 'Mentoring' programme which will begin
as soon as the participating teachers commence their services at their
respective schools.
The Director also conveyed her
congratulations to the participants for demonstrating a positive
attitude towards the induction programme. She also called on them to
signify their patience, interest and cotntnitment during their tenure
as teachers.
Following her welcoming remarks was a
foreword delivered by Pg Dr Hjh Rahmah Pg. Hj Jadid, Acting Vice
Chancellor of UBD.
Prior to the certificate
presentation, participating teachers vocalised their intrinsic spirit
in choosing the noble vocation as teachers by rendering the Induction
programme theme song, to which they sang with pride and zest.
Presenting the certificates was the
guest of honour, Haji Sheikh Adnan bin Sheikh Mohammad, Permanent
Secretary of Ministry of Education. --
