Teachers And Choreographers Told
To Study Unique Brunei Dances

Begawan – Teachers and choreographers are called to study
in-depth and learn the techniques of Brunei dances to suit the taste
and changing era.
The efforts could upgrade the quality
of the dance performances.
Pengiran
Hajah Hairani, General Director of Education at the Ministry of
Education, made the call at the launching the 28th Brunei National
Dance Final Competition among primary schools yesterday.
According to her, the beauty in terms
of uniqueness, eastern moral principle and appreciation of Brunei
Dancing Art can help the conservation and originality of the dances.
“The arid of idea and creativity will
weaken the credibility of the arts, which will make it easily
destroyed by the influences of foreign elements,” she said.
The Puni Primary School of Temburong
once again emerged as the champion in this year’s competition.
Ten teams competed in the final
yesterday morning.
The competition was the annual
project of the Co-Curriculum Education Department.
