Brunei And Pakistan Hold Bilateral
Talks In Jakarta
Jakarta –
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Brunei’s Acting
Minister of Foreign Affairs, held bilateral talks with the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Mr Khurshid M. Kasuri, at the Jakarta
Convention Centre yesterday.
During the meeting, the Brunei
Princess welcomed Pakistan's participation in the ASEAN Regional Forum
(ARF) and accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) in
Southeast Asia.
The Princess and the Pakistani
Foreign Minister also discussed bilateral matters and exchanged views
on current regional and international issues.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness and
other Foreign Ministers attended the signing ceremonies for the
accession of Japan and Pakistan to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation
in Southeast Asia at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC).
The Princess later attended the
signing ceremony of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Declaration for Cooperation
to Combat International Terrorism.
The Joint Declaration provides a
framework for cooperation between ASEAN and Russia to prevent, disrupt
and combat international terrorism.
On Friday night, Her Royal Highness
and YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Hj Abdul
Aziz attended a gala dinner.
Mr
Hassan Wirajuda, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, hosted it.
The gala dinner was in honour of all
Foreign Ministers and delegates attending the ASEAN Ministerial
Meeting, Post Ministerial Conferences and ASEAN Regional Forum.
