'Nyonya' buffet at Millennium

Mouth-watering dessert
The Millennium Restaurant, renowned
as a leading restaurant in the Sultanate to offer different themes of
palatable cuisine, launched 'Peranakan Buffet Dinner' on July 2.
Cooking up a storm in the kitchen
with an array of delectable 'Peranakan' cuisine are a team of experts
headed by Chef Khairul.
The chef has prepared a wide range of
Perenakan food, from appetisers to the main course and dessert, to
introduce diners to a hearty dining experience.
On Friday evening's launch, Chef
Khairul prepared 'mee siam', 'sambal', 'achar', 'rojak', and 'kerabu
perut' among the appetisers; 'pongteh chicken', 'fried chicken inche
kabin', 'black pepper lamb', 'sayur lodeh' and 'nasi ulam' in the main
course, and 'puteri mandi', 'bubur cha cha', 'bingka' and many more
dessert to choose from.
Restaurant's supervisor Mr. Shavana
said the buffet costs $16.80 nett for adults and $7.80 nett for
children between four to eleven years.
He said the 'Peranakan Buffet Dinner'
will run until July 18.
'Peranakan' cuisine is a fusion of
Chinese and Malay dishes, commonly known as 'Nyonya' dishes, well
known for its richness in sweet and spicy flavours.
He assured that traditional
ingredients of Chinese recipes and Malay's spices and herbs are used
to provide the fusion at its best.
Millennium Restaurant, 'where good
food costs less', previously introduced its patrons to the authentic
taste of Thai food, which received great response and praise from its
patrons.
